Icomera launches the “X6″

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

Icomera, the world’s leading provider of cellular broadband gateways for mobile applications, announced on September 21st, its new Icomera X6 mobile access and application router. The announcement is made on the opening day of InnoTrans 2010 where the European rail industry converges every second year.

“We are very excited to be able to present this product,” says Roger Sandén, President and CEO of Icomera. “Icomera created this market segment eight years ago and now we are raising the bar again. Although the Icomera X6 is only now being officially released we already have pre-orders from train operators and rolling stock manufacturers from around the world. The product has been extremely well received and we are now ramping up our production to meet the high demand.”

For the first time the Icomera X6 offers the rail industry a standardised rail IP communications platform with broadband performance that is specifically designed to host third party applications. Icomera believes this will accelerate on-train application deployment by removing the technical and commercial barriers to collaboration and innovation between suppliers.

“Icomera X6 represents an entirely new generation of products that builds upon our almost decade long experience in this business,” says Martin Bergek, Vice President, Business and Product Development. “It is a great combination of rail-grade state of the art hardware together with our new improved software platform,” continues Martin Bergek.

The Icomera X6 gateway is available from order now. For more information please visit our dedicated Icomera X6 page.

Backup to the cloud!

Monday, June 14th, 2010

The problem of backing up data, either from servers or workstations, is something every business has to worry about. From in-house NAS systems, to double drives, the moment our primary data is gone a big search for backups begins.

At 3dot we have the same questions. How to backup vast amounts of data, how to handle incremental backups and how to selectively restore data. On top of that, we want our data to be stored on off-site storage without size limits. Or simply: in the cloud.

After months of testing, we are happy to present mySecureBackup.si. A service that enables everyone to backup their data and pay only a small monthly licence fee (9,90€) and only for storage (0,20€/GB) and bandwidth (0,15€/GB) actually used. On top of that, you can use mySecureBackup not only as a backup system, but also as a network drive shared between employees, or as a sync drive for your multiple workstations. It works on Windows, Linux and Mac, and stores data securely in the Amazon data center in Ireland.

We’re extremely happy to announce this service as it solved one of the biggest problems we had, and we’re sure it could help your business too!

3dot enters the wireless market

Monday, August 17th, 2009

Teltonika RUT110In an effort to maximise the potential of currently undeveloped market segments, 3dot started exploring for possiblities in the WiFi access market in late 2008. The result of our research and various equipment testing is the signed reseller agreement with Teltonika, a manufacturer of GPS tracking devices from Lithuania. While Teltonika is famous for M2M and remote-control management systems and hardware, their recent product line of 3G routers provides a cost effective bridge between GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA and wireless networks.

3dot will offer Teltonika  routers to the local market via authorised retail partners and special agreements with mobile phone operators. The Teltonika 3G router products are a great option for secondary and internet access in locations where classic ADSL or FTTH access is unavailable. Thanks to the simple interface and setup, and not third party modem requirements, Teltonika routers are a great solution for quick and simple WiFi coverage in remote and even mobile locations.
